Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is playing politics to his advantage by cornering and contesting the appointment of Charanjit Singh Channi as Chief Minister, Punjab Government. Announcing and broadcasting sops and schemes without the implicit endorsement of the CM himself, hence taking him along in good humour.
Probably, for two reasons. Firstly, testing political waters of former Chief Minister – Captain Amarinder Singh, who resigned a few months ago given his conflicts of interests with Sidhu.
Secondly, check-mating the ascendancy out performing the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections.
Maybe, motor mouth Sidhu would like to explore a little more rather than settling with his pick and purchase, fully anticipating the uncertainty of political arithmetic, equations and calculations.
As a leader, both astute and ambitious, Sidhu knows where to hit and when to hit boldly, bargaining for his dues by considering others. How far he goes will be everybody’s watch, given his politics of claims and endorsements. Nobody knows where he falters.
