How Children And Youth Collectives Observed Republic Day Across Spaces

Republic Day is a significant day for our nation, reminding us of the struggles of our freedom fighters and nation builders for the rights and liberties we enjoy today. It is also a time for us to come together, to recommit to constitutional values and reaffirm our participation in the country’s development and its future.

On India’s 73rd Republic Day, children, youth and community members associated with YUVA engaged in a range of activities and this photoblog presents a glimpse of all the engagements across different parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and in other parts of the state.

Anubhav Shiksha Kendra youth in Ambujwadi read the Preamble together after hoisting the national flag.

Many of the engagements outlined were led by Anubhav Shiksha Kendra, the youth experiential learning programme, and children’s collectives Bal Adhikar Sangharsh Sangathans.

In Ganpat Patil Nagar, Dahisar; Nehru Nagar, Vile Parle; and Ambujwadi, Malvani, the youth associated with Anubhav Shiksha Kendra read the Preamble to the Constitution together, discussed the importance and relevance of this day, and conducted door-to-door visits to spread awareness about Constitutional values.

In Kranti Nagar, Kandivali, Anubhav Shiksha Kendra Lalkar Youth Group organised a film screening: Samvidhan Kaise Bana.

Poetry convention.

A poetry convention was organised by Anubhav Shiksha Kendra in collaboration with Maharashtra Kamgar Kalyan Mandal at Kolhapur.

At JRD Tata College, Akola, the Anubhav Shiksha Kendra youth observed Republic Day with students and shared about the Constitution with them.

Dadar Railway Station.

YUVA Urban Initiatives Childline team observed Republic Day with railway and police stakeholders at Dadar Railway Station.

Bal Adhikar Sangharsh Sangathan.

Bal Adhikar Sangharsh Sangathan children’s collective members organised an awareness programme for children and their parents in Matunga.

Street play.

Bal Adhikar Sangharsh Sangathan members also launched their street play “Bacchon Ki Suno, Phir Ummedwar Chuno” across community spaces in Mumbai – in Bandra, Malwani, Lallubhai Compound and Mandala. Here are some scenes from the street plays across spaces.
