Wondering What To Do After Graduation? Maybe MBA In Business Analytics Is Your Answer

Confused about what to do next after your graduation and which field would be more job-worthy? Here is why you can choose an MBA in business analytics as a top contender for recruiters attention.

Along with the big three — marketing, finance and HR — business analytics is surely the course of the era. With businesses having transitioned to ‘digital first‘, this shift is understandable. Tarun Anand, Chairman of Universal Business School, is bullish about this:

Business Analytics is relevant across all aspects of running a business; especially marketing. The vast numbers of companies employing business analytics graduates typically look to fill key roles that help them understand their target customers better. The kind of roles they are being hired for include business intelligence analyst, big data analyst, management analyst, market research analyst, data scientists, marketing manager, etc.”

Usually, there is a lot of confusion around business and data analytics; while the latter is focused more on transforming raw data into usable information, the former uses data to recommend changes and form business insights for the organisation.

The requirement of skilled graduates to manage the data and use it for the benefit of the organisation is in demand by recruiters.

Like any course, for business analytics, it is also important to assess the curriculum of B-schools before freezing one. IIM Calcutta, ISB Hyderabad, Universal Business School and NIRMA University are a few of the many preferred B-schools by experts and various rankings across the country.

Sarang Banubakde, Associate Business Consultant, Tech Mahindra says,

“With hyper-personalisation in each sector, it is imperative that businesses are looking at data as the highest priority resource even higher than capital. This message is widely spread across markets resulting in data science as the most preferred stream for recruitment.”

It’s not just tech and FMCG but even BFSI where graduates with business analytics specialisation score high. Organisations today are sitting atop heaps of information, be it in the field of research, bargains or client-related administrations, and hence, the requirement of skilled graduates to manage the data and use it for the benefit of the organisation is in demand by recruiters.

Sashi Kumar of Indeed India says, “

Most companies in BFSI seek a seamless customer experience. This has led to high demand for tech roles as well as more conventional roles too. There has been an increase in hiring in UI/UX developers, application developers, AI/ML engineers, cyber security professionals, and even financial analysts.”
