My Rendezvous With Unhealthy Lifestyle

Today was just a regular morning for me. But I don’t know what pushed me out of the bed to go for a bath, unlike other days where scrolling the Instagram feed was the first thing to do. After that, I went to a nearby health centre for a free check up and the results shocked me. I never took my health seriously, I wanted to look slim for various reasons, but none of them were motivating enough to deter me from the unhealthy junk-filled lifestyle I was living. My BMI rocketed up to 36.5, which made my body vulnerable to various heart diseases. My body age (called functional age in medical terms) was 50 years, while I am just 22. When I heard that my age was equivalent to that of a 50-year old I was shocked. All the haze was now clear, I got answers to all the questions I have been feeling about myself for the last few months. Knee ache, lethargy, always on a back foot all these now made sense. I promised that I will work hard to make my body match my actual age. The filthy food and junk I have accumulated have resulted in this, and I abide by one thing now- If I don’t work today, I’ll be 60 (body wise) in a few years and might die of a heart attack.

So, to all the people reading this, go and get your health checkup and BMI calculated. The adulteration in our food has adulterated our lives, and we need to purify ourselves to build an invincible future.
