Have You Also Noticed Politicians Wearing Caps During Electioneering In UP?

Cap is the main talking point in this episode of the assembly elections in UP. It will surely not be the ultimate curiosity of this polling season. We will continue to talk about the use, colour and design of the political cap. Politicians’ love for caps necessarily takes a spiral curve in the most striking look possible amid the elections. It was clear that the love for wearing varied types of caps was not random.

Ever since it was used as a head covering, it has been staying with a personal purpose that was always vaguely giving safety to the open head. Now luckily, it appears plausible for serving political purposes, too. Even this particular point was more or less stressed by none other than Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party Chief.

I would like to tell a little about the significance of wearing the different coloured caps, particularly during the polls just as now.

The efficient Election Commission has fixed the amount of Rs 40 lakh for contesting the assembly polls and also provided classified details on every mixed expense. Are these not exactly so? For the simplest boat-shaped cap, there has been a fixed price of Rs 23. It must not be stylish as remains clear.

It gives an ample indication of a politician on electioneering. We have viewed on our TV screen how Samajwadi Party leaders used to put on dark red caps during their canvassing. Even Rahul Gandhi has been appearing in his party’s white cap.

The politicians do keep the cap ready at least during political appearances, otherwise, it remains on the shelf collecting dust, stress several.

Even during the turbulent days of the freedom movement, our political leaders wore the cap and it is nothing incorrect in emphasising that the Congress party popularised it. The tradition has yet wholly not ended up.

The colour has certainly expanded with the surge in smaller parties at the regional level. It is adopted as the party plume. More or less, the politicians are wearing caps in different colours. This headwear remains essential to impress the psyche of electorates at particular times. That’s why our sly politicians do not forget painstakingly to spare time in putting up the necessary cap on the head.

They are now paying more attention to slating schemes to secure a sure success in not too distant assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. The first phase is reportedly scheduled for February 10. They fully well know that this toil will equip them with a five-year-long comfort if they grandly achieve victory in the assembly elections. All the more they are not leaving any chance to wear a cap for the ideal time.
