To my boredom, Twitter and the business world have suddenly exploded with the news of Elon Musk buying the bird. And I am here wondering what the fuss about is. Not that business people haven’t made risky investments, nor is it that all of them succeeded.
But this has been the talk of the town so much that we almost forgot that Russia has warned to use nuclear weapons in the war now, and there is a place in Delhi that was bulldozed to ruins and needs to be reconstructed.
Indians too are hilariously enthusiastic about it. The deal has brought together the right and the left-wing in either celebrating the acquisition or rejecting it (as if Elon Musk cares about their opinion) for different reasons.
While the left-wing hopes that Elon ensures freedom of speech and eradication of bots, the right-wing is also happy about something that I haven’t been able to comprehend!
Twitter was created for communication and brainstorming interactions over important topics. But I believe that it has been a tool of menticide (that Jack referred to as Global Consciousness) for a very long time.
Political parties across the world have been using it for coercive persuasion and so owning this app gives an edge over the political system (not to forget Tesla has been in a standoff with the Indian government over several matters for some time now).
I admit to being just another opinionated lay(wo)man trying to jot down something I know less about. But people discussing it like a family matter, commenting on how Elon made a bad or good decision as if they too will profit or bear losses, is hysterical.
He is a businessman and seemingly knows his trade well. His success rate has been one of the highest. He is aiming for Mars. He has filthy money to go shopping for businesses. So, whether he buys the birdcages or burns them, the problems of the world wouldn’t be solved an inch (nor of our hustling lives).
Elon Buying Twitter Doesn’t Solve Anything
His approbation for the freedom of speech, which is the highlight of this purchase and that Elon has used as a narrative throughout, is questionable for a man with egotistical duality who gets triggered when others practice freedom of speech and uses it as an ace card for justifying himself.
(Not to forget, he isn’t too receptive to denials, as is evident from his overpriced investment in the bird because he wasn’t allowed to suggest anything in the board room at 14.9%).
The business leaders are good to watch for daily motivation and learning about the trade, but the ugly reality of capitalists and their destructive aspirations and control over the global economy can’t be overlooked.
Twitter being bought by Elon Musk won’t solve any of the major problems of the world—neither the religious hate in our country nor the suffering of the war-stricken innocent people throughout the world.
Politicians, Capitalists and Media are always in synchronicity with each other and trusting any one of them to think about the people is naive. Capitalists plan, Politicians execute and the Media narrates and misguides. So believing in any profitable venture over a humane narrative is like trusting the wolf for sheep.
For centuries, the common people have bestowed blind faith in leaders (then kings and now politicians) who have always used it to feed the capitalists and maintain their own powers.
As an onlooker, this deal shall do no good for my country until hate-mongering profiles are unverified and propaganda-driven abusive trolling and bashing are checked. However, I may not be surprised to see Tesla in Indian markets instead. I mean, who knows?
