I do not respect my father. period.
I lost respect for two of my ex-partners, due to which we broke up. break ups are hard, and also this time around instead of drowning myself in music and movies, i wanted to sit with my thoughts for awhile.
I had broken up with my father long time back, it was hard too, though we share the same roof.
We inherently respect our parents, elders, companions, friends etc. parents we have no choice till sometime than to give them respect, authoritative figures cause we have to, but friends and companions we starts by feeling respect for the other person then we include him/her in our lives.
Slowly we learn the reality and face them; now it happens with all relationships, be it parental, romantic or authoritative. The respect either grows or diminishes.
In one of the movies I was watching recently, the protagonist says to her friend that he is one of the very few people she respects, and it makes me think too.
