Now, all the political focus rests on the more prestigious parliamentary seat of Rae Bareli. The cross-voting and realignment in Uttar Pradesh Rajya Sabha polls suggest a bit towards reportedly a solidly determined attempt by the BJP to hem in the Congress party’s Gandhi family lone seat in Raebareli. It was won by the party in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Sonia Gandhi had won Raebareli by a margin of more than a massive total of 1.65 lakh votes.
It is not clear whether someone from the Gandhi family would contest Raebareli, a seat Sonia has won five consecutive times since the year 2004 but with gradually yet fastly losing margins since the UPA lost its power field in the year 2014. But retaining Raebareli would certainly be a matter of big prestige. Will Priyanka Gandhi try her luck from this very very ancestral seat?
Quite a senior, older and deftly experienced politician Swami Prasad Maurya, once loyal to SP has now been floating his political party, will get a chance from the famed seat. Therefore, what is significantly abuzz in the vast political circle is that he inches towards the goal of entering into I.N.D.I.A, as the news goes, he is supposedly eyeing his chances on the lone LS seat in UP since Congress lost its bastion many years ago. Will he get the chance is still not clear? It is taken up only as a presumption, the political gazers point.
