The Dialogue with UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed

On innovative approaches to combat climate change

8th September, 2019 | Chinmaya Mission, Lodhi Road, New Delhi

During the visit of the Deputy Secretary-General Amina J Mohammed to India and in the run up to the Secretary-General’s Climate Summit in September, the United Nations, in collaboration with Youth Ki Awaaz, is hosting a powerhouse dialogue with young people on innovative approaches to combat climate change.

Amina J Mohammed was previously the Minister of Environment of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, where she steered the country’s efforts on climate action, protecting the natural environment and conserving resources for sustainable development. Prior to this, she served as the special advisor to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Post-2015 development planning, where she was instrumental in bringing about the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Deputy Secretary-General will give a keynote address, followed by young climate champions speaking up on solutions to tackle the climate crisis, and a moderated Q&A session.
