Did we only endure adverse effects in this lockdown? We all feel that we have suffered a lot in this lockdown. We’ve had to stay away from friends, our home and work. Everything was stopped in the lockdown. All hope was ended. People are bored. Why are there only negative thoughts behind the lockdown?

This lockdown has brought lots of changes with it. It has connected us with and brought us closer to our families. We’ve had a lot of time to spend with them in this lockdown. It has also connected us with our old friends and relatives who we haven’t talked to in a long time. I know it has created distance between couples, but with the help of technology we’re all connected by video calls.

The lockdown has brought many changes in our lives and will certainly create lots of memories, good and bad. Before the lockdown, there was a lot of pollution in cities which affected not only humans, but also animals, birds and nature in general. But this lockdown has made history. For the first time after industrialisation/modernisation, pollution levels have decreased to a record low. Rivers have become clean, noise pollution has reduced and the most important thing, roads have become free of traffic jams.

Pathankot, Punjab. The lockdown led to pollution levels dropping. The himalayas that were once shrouded are now clearly visible.

Nature has started changing slowly and its natural beauty has begun to flourish again. There is fresh air everywhere. Animals have had plenty of space to roam and run around in this lockdown. New birds have migrated from other countries.

In this period, we’ve had the time to understand each other. We’ve gotten to know who our real friends are. We have got a chance to learn more about everything. Students have gotten the opportunity to attend online classes and a newer form of education system that seems more attractive has emerged. We have stored these memories in our phones and will remember it for generations.
