Is It True: That Ejaculation And Orgasm Are The Same For Men?

is it true thumbnail ejaculation

By Edwin Thomas:

Dear men, while some of you seem to pretend that you give two shits about ‘men’s rights‘ (don’t get me started), chuck that activism nonsense and let’s clear up that little doubt at the back of your mind.

Here’s a personal anecdote to get the ball rolling (pun intended):

One fine Sunday morning, I was engaging in, well, eating a really good sandwich belonging to an acquaintance. Let’s put it at that. A little side note: that sandwich felt more like a sub, but I digress. As I kept taking bite after bite after bite, it was really stimulating my gastric juices, if you’re getting my groove. But just like that, out of the blue, while I was on one of those really satisfying bites, a… splash of sauce came right out in full effect. But it took my acquaintance, who was sharing his sub, another minute to reach his ‘happy place’.

If some of you party poopers still didn’t get it, the sauce stands for ejaculation, the ‘happy place’ stands for orgasm and the ‘sub’ stands for an Italian BMT.

Euphemism blast aside, this specific incoordination of events – where the ejaculation occurred before the orgasm – points to the fact that they are not one and the same and that these terms cannot be used interchangeably.

While ejaculation refers to the physical release of semen involving your penis and urethra, an orgasm refers to that feeling of satisfaction/pleasure/climax. Both can be caused by the same physical stimulation but they can be seen as separate from each other.

Basically, it’s that 2-in-1 offer biscuit pack that is possible to tear apart. That’s right, you can even have one without the other. Here’s a quick handy list of permutations and combinations with ejaculations and orgasms:

Regular everything: orgasm – yes, ejaculation – yes.
Anorgasmic ejaculation (a dysfunction): orgasm – no, ejaculation – yes
Non-ejaculatory orgasm: orgasm – yes, ejaculation – no
No action: orgasm – no, ejaculation – no. (I was told that this is the worst kind)

While a ‘regular pack’ may have both the ingredients, it need not happen at the same time. Some men don’t ejaculate until after several seconds of the orgasm. Those who are unable to ejaculate due to physical reasons are still capable of having orgasms (and even MULTIPLE ones at that). Moreover, you don’t necessarily lose your erection if you orgasm and don’t ejaculate, (if ever you were running short on erections) leading to further proof that it ain’t the same. But don’t get too excited, only 12% of men would probably be able to do that.

However, if you are constantly ejaculating early or late, or not ejaculating at all, and if you don’t have a suitable explanation for it (tantric sex methods, fatigue, alcohol, etc), you probably need to visit the doctor. And if you have found a way to not ejaculate and still achieve orgasm, that WILL NOT work double-duty as protection; birth control and contraception are still in vogue.

Safe to say, male ejaculation is not the same as orgasm. So while you waste time trying to ‘demystify‘ the much-discussed female orgasm, isn’t it great to know that sex even for you has the scope of getting complicated? Sure, 75% of you will reach orgasm in two minutes or less if you just masturbate, but hey, no one’s counting.

What a great time to be alive.
