Barely a month after racial attacks against African students were reported from Delhi-NCR, a new case of an alleged verbal attack on African nationals has come to light. In a video that has gone viral, two African women can be seen being shouted down by a large group of men in the Delhi metro. Angered, one of the women can be seen stripping in the metro to ‘fight’ the men.

The video shows women being mocked by some strangers – and some even shouting, “Bahar nikalo, bahar nikalo (Throw them out, throw them out).” The two women are seen shouting back and saying, “You want to fight? Let’s fight.” Other passengers in the train can also be heard demanding that the women be deboarded.

One of the women, then takes off her T-shirt, telling a man that she was ready to take him on. The passengers continued to scream, “Us ladke ki koi galti nahi hai (the man is not at fault).”

Though the video was uploaded on YouTube on May 3, 2017, the date of the incident still remains unverified. The Delhi Metro authorities have also not taken cognisance of the incident so far.

In April this year, some African students were beaten and their houses raided by Noida residents on suspicions of ‘cannibalism’ after a child went missing from the locality. African students had faced violence in Delhi in 2016, as well.
