Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party won 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 Delhi Assembly election.

The Delhi assembly election, that began on February 8, reached an interesting phase with the BJP’s defeat by a very large margin. This is the 5th consecutive state assembly election defeat for the BJP.

Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, won the New Delhi seat after defeating BJP’s Sunil Kumar Yadav by a margin of 21,697 votes, and it is the third straight time that Kejriwal won this constituency. Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, and AAP’s Atishi won in the Patparganj and Kalkaji constituency respectively.

As compared to the 2015 assembly election, the BJP’s winning percentage has increased, but they couldn’t perform well in the election. I think they failed to convince the people.

The AAP government did a lot for the people of Delhi in the last few years. They tried to solve issues such as water supply, electricity, pollution, and traffic woes. They came up with the ‘odd-even‘ rule to control pollution as well as traffic.

There was a time when Delhi was suffering due to water problems, but now, every house in Delhi gets (even if limited) water supply. Apart from this, there was a power supply problem everyday, with regular power cuts, but now, the state has improved this issue a lot, and power cuts are rare in the city.

Last year, the AAP government announced a kind of ‘bonus,’ that people whose electricity consumption was under 200 units had to pay zero amount. So, these are the things that helped the Kejriwal government come into power.

In all the state elections, the BJP has been losing badly, and in Delhi, they have lost three times in a row. They failed to impress people with their work. Even Congress failed to work for the Delhi people. For national parties like the Congress and BJP, it’s been a spate of bad luck that they failed to win. The Indian National Congress (INC) has been suffering nowadays. A lack of leadership has been evident in their party.

The BJP should start focusing on their mistakes and improve their work-ability. Its time to learn from their mistakes and to get ready for the next election.

Kejriwal celebrated his wife’s birthday in the AAP office, and after winning the election he thanked Lord Hanuman. The people of Delhi are very impressed with Kejriwal’s work. So, it can be said that for the next five years, Delhi’s condition will improve with the help of the AAP government. I hope this time, the AAP government will introduce new policies that will make Delhi great.
