I Consider Myself A Lucky Person, Here’s My Story Of “Luck By Chance”:

Freedom

I always consider myself a lucky person. Here’s my story of “Luck by Chance”:

  1. I was an average looking teenager, but whenever I used to travel from one state to other as my place of origin and place of residence were in different states, I always used to end up with a small love story (not lust story) that exposed me with the perspective of different people of different ages and different places at a very tender age. Hence, even without social media or the internet, I had experienced some wonderful connections that restored my faith in humanity.
  2.  I shifted to Kolkata for my graduation, and as we were hunting for a good PG/Hostel, we came across by a man who was from my native town, but we were literally strangers. He hesitated initially, but he walked around with us, and finally, with his help, I got a comfortable place to live in.
  3. The same guy I mentioned above helped me settle down in the city comfortably. He showed me the wonderful vibes of Kolkata that I bet no one would have ever shown to me. It was hard to be away from home, but he made it easier.
  4. I somehow managed to reach my exam center on time, it was our 1st-year final exam, and I was nervous. Then my sandal decided to tense me even more, it broke somehow, luckily, a man nearby saw me, and he offered to help me. I followed him to find a cobbler, but it was early in the morning, so he wasn’t there. He made me walk a few more streets around, and I was freaking out, so I called one of my friends and asked him to stay with me on the phone. And guess what? That man purchased me good footwear with his own money and said you are from this college, so you all are like my children, now go and give your best.
  5. My purse got stolen in a crowded place, and the same evening, I got a call from a woman saying she had found a purse with my cards and Id. I took a few of my friends as a safety measure along with me, but luckily, she was a genuine person, and I got my cards and purse back.
  6. I once had to go home on short notice, so I got myself a general ticket and boarded a sleeper class train (It was the during the festive season, all jam-packed). Luckily enough, the TTE was kind, he preferred me among all others, though my capacity to pay was the least. He even treated me to dinner, and we bonded well. Later, he helped me with all my journeys.
  7. Again, I was going home from Kolkata and with the same jugaad as mentioned above, but this time, the train was different, so the TTE was not there for rescue But here also I managed to get a seat but only for half of my journey. Luckily enough, there were many Army personnel in my wagon, and as my half journey went by, I was just standing by the door to figure out how I can manage the rest of my journey (It was a total of 17 hrs). They thought I might be new to solo travel; they tried to have a conversation with me. I felt the positives vibes, and I went with the flow, and in a few minutes became a part of the group. Seeing me hesitating in taking anything to eat, they took me to the pantry where I ate. I got to know so many people from diverse backgrounds—someone was from Kerala, some were from Tamil Nadu, some from Andhra, some from Bihar and I somehow still connected to them.
  8. The other day, I was in the hospital, there were no seats for the attendant, and I was only there to accompany my dad, I had been waiting there, in case he might need me. A boy was observing me every time he was passing be. He finally asked me if I was okay. I was not okay; I was freaking out because of my dad’s ill health. I hesitantly opened up, but in a few minutes, we literally became best pals, though we never crossed each other ever again.
  9. There are many such small instances I relish, and they’ve become a huge contributor to my personality. I had negative experiences, too, but they were in known places with known people. These experiences also had a great impact on me, but I deliberately chose to be positive, caring and kind. Positives experiences at any day overshadow my gloomy days. I believe in humanity, and I still believe in it, and I guess I will always believe in it.
