Since the beginning of the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, there is a ruckus on behalf of the opposition on the Pegasus espionage case and the matters of farmers and agricultural laws. Due to this, the work of both the houses is getting disrupted.

In this sequence, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has called opposition leaders to the Constitution Club in Delhi on Tuesday morning for breakfast and tea. During this, discussions will be held to formulate a strategy against the government and unite the opposition.

This invitation of Rahul has also been sent to Trinamool Congress (TMC). Leaders of DMK, Shiv Sena, RJD, Left, Trinamool Congress and several other opposition parties have been invited for the discussion to be held tomorrow morning on the pretext of breakfast. It may include leaders of opposition parties and MPs from both houses.

According to sources, it is being sent by the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge. The third week of the monsoon session began on Monday. The tension between the opposition and the government continued even today.

The main issue is the Pegasus espionage episode on which the opposition is demanding discussion. Amidst this allegation, the monsoon session, which began on 19 July, saw only 18 hours of work out of a total of 105 hours till the end of last week.

Opposition parties say the impasse in Parliament will end only after the government is ready to hold a discussion on the Pegasus spying issue first. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi rejected the opposition’s demand and said in the Lok Sabha on Friday that it was not an issue.

The opposition is alleging that the government is getting the bill passed according to its own accord and is not discussing issues like petrol-diesel inflation, Pegasus or agriculture law.
