China’s new bullet train has created a big name in the world. It is reportedly the world’s fastest ground train with a whopping 373 mega per hour (600 km/h). Is there any train that runs at this speed? This maglev train, as it is referred to, gallops the 393 km distance of London to Edinburgh in less than an hour thereby mobilizing the happier passengers from city to city faster than an airplane as the moving train hops up above the tracks. Other trains take above four hours.
The question arises how has the odd locomotive achieved such a record speed? It runs using electro-magnets which helps driving the wagons forward with minimal friction.
Built in the coastal city of Qingdao in China, this state-of-the-art train has reportedly just won against the Japanese train record set at 603 km per hour in the year 2015. Will India be able to bring such advanced bullet trains in the hundredth year of its freedom?
