Why Does Gender Bias Still Exist In Society?

Still to be considered a thing, “Gender Bias” is widely seen as a growing issue in India. Not only women but also men these days are stereotyped based on looks, lifestyles, etc.

Speaking of which, many incidents have taken place in the past few days that show how despite becoming a growing country with a rapid population and a promising amount of youth in our country we still have this thing, it still exists in our country.

To be honest, I have experienced many changes in my life due to the biased thinking of our people. The basic teaching of a child happens to be their home, which is the main thing to be considered important here.

In our society, children are basically programmed to be in a particular field. They are taught how a boy or girl should do or what their roles are. This is at one point the right thing, but they grow up with those thoughts and become adults with that stereotypical teachings.

The thing wrong here is restricting them to a particular field. For example, teaching a boy to be the earner and a girl how to be a good cook is not going to give them a successful life. Instead preparing them how to lead a good life will lead them to a particular decision on how they want to lead their life in terms of respect and priorities.

A bitter example of this is women teaching their girl children to not wear or do manly things and restricting them to only household chores.

On the other hand, using this power, particularly “feminism”, as an opportunity to lead down men is not good. We can clearly see how girls are taking this concept as an excuse. This isn’t a thing to use, especially when our girls and women are coming in the light of development.

Men too have feelings, they too deserve to be happy and equal like we want our girl gang to be. Equality and feminism are those major terms when they are used, we should respect them. They are special in terms of respect for men, women and other genders as well.

These things are very complicated, a single post cannot specify it.

As I’ve seen, men are stereotyped too on their looks and their choice’s of leading life. On an ending note, I just want to say respect everyone, let them learn, fly, feel free to express their feelings and ideas. We as a society should do a bit to normalise gender equality.

Give respect and teach others about it too. Hope we can change the nation and its perspective so that the upcoming generation will not face this issue.
