Although With A Simple Definition, Feminism Always Gets Itself Into Trouble

Many modern-day activists within feminism have forgotten the true meaning of the movement and replaced it with the concept of feminazism. ‘Feminism’ basically implies that women and men are at par with each other and neither is superior. However, lately, the concept is thought of by many as one where women are superior to men. In my perspective, true feminism is where there is no gender-based division of responsibility, work, salary and biasness.

It is a powerful movement that aims to eliminate narrow-mindedness in people who deny equal opportunities to women. It aims to empower women to fight for social, political and economic rights that are fairly theirs to claim. Society has been built on a patriarchal foundation where women were oppressed, but a progressive society can be obtained only when women have the right to showcase their potential. For instance, women CEOs represent only 7.4% of the Top 500 companies on the Forbes list. Not only that, the sex ratio even in the parliament is unequal. Nowadays, people associate the feminist movement with angry women fighting in front of buildings, but there are others as well. Sometimes, they uphold the idea of equality and demand their rights.

Feminism It is a powerful movement that aims to eliminate narrow-mindedness in people who deny equal opportunities to women.

However, there is a matter of concern among the younger generation: a new wave of wrong feminism has been aroused on social media platforms, wherein the name of feminism many wrong concepts are preached. The movement has turned into an aggressive movement where superiority is a ‘should’ rather than equality. However, feminism is a social and political movement for change in a societal setting and stereotypes.

Feminism aims to eradicate sexist ideas that are nothing but gender-based remarks. These come from a reserved mindset and have become so common that we often overlook them. A commonly heard sexist remark is that women are gentler and serene, and meant to look after their household, while men are supposed to be strong and earn a living for their family. Society has divided the roles of men and women to limit opportunities for both.

The concept of feminism comes from these social remarks demanding a fairer position for women in society. The essence of feminism is this simple definition and both men and women abide by it. Changes are coming into the picture, however, still in many areas, and many walks of life, all boys and girls are victims of social evils and there is still a long way to go.
