- With the arrival of the third wave in India, the booster shot registrations have also been opened. The booster shots are first being served to frontline workers and senior citizens, but soon, they will be available for all others, too.
- As of today, i.e. January 19, 2022, there are about 3,79,01,241 active cases in India, including 8,961 cases of the Omicron variant.
- An unprecedented Covid wave is sweeping through the Supreme Court as 10 judges have tested positive so far. The daily tests being conducted on the SC staff has an alarmingly consistent positivity rate of 30%. Also, out of a total of 1,500 staff members in the Supreme Court, as many as 400 have tested positive so far in the third wave, taking the overall positivity rate to nearly 30%.
- Out of the total population (1,33,30,00,000), around 91,25,52,134 (68.5%) people got their first dose of vaccine and about 65,86,14,500 (49.4%) got both the doses.
But the pandemic is still going on and we really need to fight it off. In order to do that, we need to take some strict precautions to prevent getting ourselves infected.
Preventions And Precautions For The Third Wave
- Get yourself vaccinated as this is the foremost thing needed to fight off the threat.
- Mask up in crowded places to avoid catching the virus. Use a multilayered cloth mask with a combination of a surgical mask over it.
- Avoid coming in close contact with anyone as you can expect at this point that anyone could be a carrier.
- Avoid going out to crowded places unless necessary. Stay at home and prevent your close ones from going outside too.
- Sanitise and disinfect your things to avoid any threat of getting infected. Disinfect your surroundings and the things you come in contact with the most.
