Porn Ban: We Blame The Porn Industry For Something That Is Normal

There is a demand for pornography and erotica in the market, so there are people are supplying these as well. This is providing employment to many people and helping them earn a living. There is no harm in the pornographic market; us and the whole society is only responsible for all this. Earlier, people used to watch erotica such as Mastram, and now, they watch porn videos on the internet instead. This is a business that used to take place then, takes place now, and there is nothing is new in this. Nothing has changed.

When the Modi government banned porn, it was opposed by many — from common citizens to big personalities. Later, this was shifted to a partial ban. And now, the same people are also opposing it. If the Google search history of the last one month of these protesting people, then their true morality will come out.

The thing to consider is: who hates porn? Anyone who doesn’t want to watch it? And when such a large number of people want to watch it, why is it not being given legal recognition? Now that we have a legal sanction for same-sex relationships and decriminalisation of extra-marital affairs, then why not recognise the porn industry as well?

The answer often given is that minors would get more exemption on watching pornography.

So have you been able to stop them from watching yet?

They don’t see it because they’re sexist, but because society has always been strict about sex. We have created an atmosphere of suspense towards sex in your children, as a result of which to eliminate this curiosity of theirs. They first searched for porn out of curiosity and then gotten used to it. Sex is prohibited everywhere from religious scriptures to society, school and home. Even the educated elite class shies away from talking about sex with their children.

In this condition, it is natural to have a desire to see and have sex. It is a disease born out of prohibition, of which we ourselves are blameworthy; we are trying to escape this blame by blaming it on the people in the porn industry instead. Stronger prohibition only creates a more rebellious and powerful desire.
